Gramercy Park Surprise Proposal

To be honest, I was hesitant to blog about this proposal because I know I’ll receive countless inquiries of “Can you get me a key?” and “Who do you know with a key?”, but Saturday’s springtime morning proposal in Gramercy Park was to special to not share. While we photograph proposals in all of New York City’s great parks (Central Park, Prospect Park, Bryant Park), Gramercy Park is just so special and unique because of it’s exclusivity and private grounds keeping team.

And no, I do not have a key to NYC’s most private park, Gramercy Park.

Albert's Private Bow Bridge Proposal

Imagine you could have all of Central Park to yourself for your NYC proposal. That was pretty much Albert’s proposal Wednesday night in New York City’s Central Park. Throughout the week, Albert and I were carefully watching the weather, as the forecast called for rain, until found a window of time when it wasn’t going to be raining. We planned accordingly. We moved the proposal up an hour. The park was empty for his Bow Bridge landing proposal. And the best part? It didn’t rain a single drop.

Matt's Central Park Rooftop Proposal

What made Matt’s secret proposal so unique was the location; a private rooftop overlooking Central Park as the sun was setting during early Spring. Good luck timing a more perfect proposal in New York City. He set the bar so high! Post proposal we went downstairs and across the street to photograph the newly engaged couple in Central Park with the Cherry Blossoms in full bloom.

Bow Bridge Cherry Blossom Proposal NYC

While the leaves and greenery aren’t quite here yet in Central Park, the views are. The stark contrast between you and the environment stands out, and when properly photographed, it just all hits. For Joe’s secret proposal, we chose the area just past the Bow Bridge for it’s privacy and view. Post proposal we walked over the Bow Bridge to the blooming Cherry Blossom trees. Un-freaking-real.

Proposing in Central Park's Ramble

Everyone knows Central Park is the most popular place in all of New York City to propose.
