Esi & Ore Manhattan Rooftop Proposal Photographer

How do you hire a rooftop proposal photographer in nyc?

Esi reached out to us several weeks before he’d propose to Ore on the rooftop of a Midtown Manhattan hotel. As NYC Proposal Photographers, we photograph proposals throughout the city (Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx) and the tri-state area. Many of the proposals we photograph are in Central Park, Grand Central Station, on piers, and the go-to spots. However, more often than not, we photograph beautiful, planned rooftop proposals.

Rooftop proposal vs proposing on the ground.

A rooftop proposal in New York City gives you several benefits that you would not have otherwise.

  • Exclusivity and privacy - A rooftop allows you to set up decorations well in advance of your arrival and away from the eyes of the public.

  • A premium view - Rooftops get you above the crowds and provide you with an unobstructed view. This is NYC! This city is known for its iconic views.

FINDING THE BEST SPOT TO PROPOSE IN NYC CAN BE CHALLENGING! HOW TO CHOOSE A SPOT.

When Gregory inquired about hiring a proposal photographer, he knew where, when, and how he was going to propose to his girlfriend Audrey. His plan was to propose outside of the hospital where he works as a surgical resident. Gregory and Audrey meet at the end of almost every shift, whether it’s when one is going to work and the other is coming home or visa versa. For them, the hospital is a large part of their lives and their relationship.

Lizzy and Max's Bomoseen Lake Vermont Wedding

As a NY based wedding photographer, it’s a real treat to photograph a simple Vermont Summer Wedding.

In the southern part of Vermont’s Green Mountains sits Lake Bomoseen Lodge and Taproom. The lodge features an unobstructed view of the pristine undeveloped lake and its simple accommodations. The lake is perfect for paddling and small watercraft; an ideal backdrop for their wedding. For Max and Lizzy’s wedding day, the waters of Lake Bomoseen were almost mirror-like in the morning and throughout the day.

Where to get married in Vermont? … Where to get married period.

Lizzy and Max chose Lake Bomoseen Lodge because it would be a mini-vacation for both of their families and their guests after a year of quarantine. Lizzy’s family travelled from Rochester, NY and Max’s family from Central New Jersey. Neither family would have the “home field advantage” as Lizzy informed me.

A full wedding weekend.

The weekend kicked off lake side with a family barbecue at Lake Bomoseen Lodge and Tap Room on Friday night. Guests arrived from all over the northeast as the smell of BBQ, bonfire, and s’mores filled the air. The next morning, Family and friends gathered early in the morning for water-sports, while the girls started to get ready.

Bomoseen Lake Vermont Wedding Welcome BBQ

What it means to be a NYC Wedding Photographer.

The weekend kicked off lake side with a family barbecue at Lake Bomoseen Lodge and Tap Room on Friday night. Guests arrived from all over the northeast as the smell of BBQ, bonfire, and s’mores filled the air. Just like many wedding weekends, I started photographing before the wedding day. As a NYC Wedding Photographer and destination photographer, I love documenting wedding weekends as much as I love photographing a single wedding day. Photographing the full weekend, starting with the rehearsal dinner tells the whole story of your wedding. The moments outside of your ceremony and reception provide a ton of amazing and fun photos where guests are relaxed, and comfortable in their regular every day clothing.

Why should you have a Wedding Rehearsal Dinner Photographer?

If you google “Wedding Photographers” you’ll most often see “Wedding Rehearsal Dinner Photographer” as well. The best way to describe your search result is the following analogy, “you wouldn’t turn your car on in 0* weather and crank it up to 100mph all at once. Your car needs time to warmup.” Photographing a wedding for a wedding photographer is very similar. A wedding photographer needs some time to get to know everyone and see who is who. This is super helpful on your wedding day as your photographer will already know or have a sense of who the cousins are, the grandparents, siblings, and bridal party.

Finding the best spot to propose in NYC can be challenging! How to choose a spot.

When Jack inquired about hiring a proposal photographer, he knew where, when, and how he was going to propose to his girlfriend Tamara. His plan was to propose at The Edge first thing in the morning, and honestly, that’s one of the best times and places to propose. Proposing in the morning not only makes for great photos (the lighting is GREAT), but an amazing full day of celebrating. After you propose, you can get brunch and enjoy the rest of the day with your new fiance, family, and friends.

Steps to hiring a Proposal Photographer for the Edge at Hudson Yards

Planning this unique proposal location requires some coordination and planning. First, you have to purchase your photographer a ticket. Select a ticket time 1 hour before your proposal, so he/her are in their spot and ready to go before you arrive to the top of The Edge. Once you’re up top, on The Edge, you’re allowed to stay there. There is no time limit.

Make sure your photographer knows where the best lighting is and where the crowds are not. On today’s proposal, I arrived 1 hour early to scope out the location. Then, I sent Jack instructions on where to go (see below)
