Director of Emergency Operations Headshot Photo - NYC Headshot Photographer

Today’s assignment was to photograph professional headshots of New York City’s Director of Emergency Operations Center, Robert Cohen.

As a Binghamton University alumnus who has been working to keep NYC moving through the pandemic, SUNY Binghamton wanted professional headshots of Robert for their alumni publication. The scope of the assignment was to capture New York City, Robert, the importance of his job, and the times we live in all within as few photos as possible.

NYC PROFESSIONAL HEADSHOTS, Done quick.

As an important piece of the New York City Operations Department, Robert couldn’t be away from work long. This meant I had to work quickly.

I worked with Robert to organize a headshot session just blocks away from his office near the Brooklyn Heights Promenade. We worked quickly to photograph a variety of professional headshot photos with a few different backdrops, all within an hour.

Registered Dietitian Headshot - Marissa Campbell

Some recent Professional Headshot work photographed in Denver Colorado! No matter where we photograph headshots, the formula is the same. We photograph photos that make our subjects not only look good but feel good. Long Island, New York City, or Denver Colorado a quality portrait photo is key!

Marissa Campbell is a Registered Dietitian in Colorado. She works primarily with patients who suffer or are recovering from eating disorders.

Marissa was in need of updating her website and social platforms with a new photo of herself. She wanted something that looked clean and professional while still feeling casual and inviting.

To give Marissa options, we set up a neutral backdrop and an environmental setup. I worked on blurring the environmental shot and choosing generic, not distracting locations.

NYC or Long Island Professional Headshots

Luckily, You don’t have to travel to Colorado for great headshots. We shoot professional headshots right here on Long Island and in NYC. Whether it’s a standard corporate headshot, like for your LinkedIn profile photo, or an environmental portrait with NYC as a backdrop; having a clean professional headshot is a necessity for any professional looking to update their brand.

David and Elise - Grand Central Park (Manhattan, NY)

New York’s Central Park: A Beautiful Location to propose in any season.

Just because there is snow on the ground and a nip to the air doesn’t mean you can’t propose. In fact, the snow makes the moment that much better for memories and for photos. It’s an ideal and picturesque New York City proposal! In the city that never sleeps love has no season and no reason to stop, a winter Central Park Proposal can be a beautiful way to start the next chapter.

How to Plan a Last-Minute Secret Proposal

David got in touch with me to photograph the big moment just a few days before he wanted to propose. The plan was, he and his now fiancée-to-be, Elise, would be walking Central Park before their date at the MET. Little did Elise know, David had picked the perfect spot in the park to pop the question: Cleopatra's Needle.

Even though the day was closing in fast, David and I coordinated the logistics making sure I would be waiting to capture the moment and Elise’s friends would be waiting nearby to celebrate afterward!

Winter Engagement Photo Shoot Magic:

Hidden in the snow I waited for David and Elise to walk up the stairs to the Needle and when David dropped on one knee I was there to capture it.

She said Yes!

Elise’s friends jumped out with balloons and champagne in hand! After a toast with friends, we walked through Central Park for a mini-engagement session capturing the winter wonderland. We finished up with a few photos on the steps of the MET and then David and Elise were on their way to Celebrate.

Congrats you two!

Dillon and Leah - Surprise Long Beach,NY Proposal (Long Island)

When Dillion reached out asking me to take his proposal photos, I couldn’t have been more excited to be a part of this special moment. For Dillion and Leah, the beaches of Long Beach, NY define their relationship. In the summertime, every weekend they are on the beaches of Long Beach and every evening after work they are at a Long Beach bar trivia night.

Naturally, these two wanted to have their engagement photos taken in a place that holds SO much meaning to them — Long Beach. After meeting on Bumble, Dillion and Leah were an instant match, and quickly connected over their love of the beach and the ocean.

With the family all together for Thanksgiving, Dillon was ready to take the jump and propose to his girlfriend Leah. Since Dillon and Leah both live in Long Beach, NY and with Dillon’s parents coming to Long Island for the first time, it was sure to be a Long Island Thanksgiving to remember.

Planning this Long Island Thanksgiving Proposal

Down the street from Dillon’s house in Long Beach, NY is a private boardwalk leading to the beach. We chose this location to propose for its privacy and unobstructed view of the beach. We knew this spot would serve as the perfect spot to drop down on one knee, propose, and take great photos.

The week leading up to the proposal, Dillon and I scouted the location and discussed all the details: How he would get Leah out on the walkway, where I’d be discreetly positioned to photograph the moment, and where their families would be hiding nearby to watch the proposal.

The day-of, I arrived in Long Beach early to make sure the location was ready and the stage was set.
As Dillon and Leah walked up the boardwalk, I let them pass and waited until Dillon was in position. When he dropped to one knee I snapped away.

Photographing their post proposal Champagne Toast and mini-engagement session on the beach to celebrate.

With family and friends around we took advantage of the beautiful Long Island Gold Coast and took some group family photos on the beach. Ending with a champagne toast and photos of Dillon and Leah on Long Beach’s famous jetties.

Oyster Bay Family Photos - Sagamore Hill

Long Island Family Photographer is the best job!

I spent the last weekend of fall foliage photographing Maureen, John, and (little) John at Sagamore Hill in Oyster Bay, NY. Our family session started off slow, as 2 year old John had just woken up from his nap. When photographing family sessions, I always start off nice slow and with no complicated poses. My goal is to get your family comfortable being photographed. So, at the start of our family session I capture a lot of candid moments (not posed photos); everyone walking, playing, talking, and being yourself. And then, throughout the session, I add suggestions and posing ideas.

Finding a place to photograph a family on Long Island can be a challenge. Many places charge photographers. They require photographers to buy costly single use permits. Oyster Bay's Sagamore Hill does not.

Long Island has countless parks, waterfront views, walking paths, and scenery. However, like much of Long Island, many places are often crowded and busy. Sagamore Hill in Oyster Bay is a true gem because of its open spaces, natural meadows, and slightly out of the way location. These characteristics make it a great place to photograph a family.
