Dom had planned it as a secret. He led his partner through the glowing lights, toward the towering decorations that deck the streets every December. When you think of New York City during the holidays, the famous Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree is one of the first images that comes to mind. It’s a place of sparkle, nostalgia, and magic—but also one of the busiest spots in NYC during December. That’s what makes Mitchell’s proposal here even more special: amidst the lights, crowds, and festive energy, he created a moment of surprise, intimacy, and joy.

Michael's Rockefeller Center Ice Skating Proposal at Christmas

Michael planned his proposal at the Rockefeller Center ice skating rink during the Christmas season. He arranged a reservation for two to skate under the lit Rockefeller Christmas Tree. His aim was to give Allison a moment she had dreamed of: ice skating at Rockefeller Center under the tree.

After the public skate session ended, Michael and Allison stayed on the ice. When nearly everyone else had left the rink, Michael moved Allison to center ice and proposed. Photos included shots of the tree, wide rink views, medium frames capturing both people and surroundings, and close shots for emotion.
