Congrats to Erin and Zack! Photographing your Montauk, NY wedding was so much fun and a joy. Perfect weather and perfect couple make the perfect day for this wedding photographer.
Ayasha and Adrian - Manhattan City Hall Wedding
Adrian and Ayasha's wedding in Lower Manhattan's City Hall is what wedding photography is all about. I loved capturing their happiness, nervousness, and the pure excitement of watching this couple get married. There were no big catering halls, cakes, and complicated dresses to cloud the focus of the day.
Throughout the day I was always capturing both the little and big moments as they happened. I also directed some shots when appropriate.
Florida International University Business School - New York City Visit
Florida International University business students visited an array of New York City companies to learn about their day to day operations, business strategies, and potential job opportunities. The FIU business students even interviewed for summer 2020 internships and full-time positions at several of the companies. Throughout the week long trip, the students visited the NBA HQ, JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley, Black Rock, IHS MarkIT, and Goldman Sachs.
Throughout the week I photographed the students actively engaging industry professionals of all different seniority levels. During a quick break I was able to offer the students headshot photos as well in a shaded area of Bryant Park.
Wedding Photographer Questions - New York City Photographer
Where are you based?
Jonathan Heisler Photography is based out of New York!
Will you travel for my wedding?
Yes - I travel a bunch for clients. From Long Island’s East End to Denver, Colorado, and from upstate NY down to Richmond, Virginia I’ve done it.
“We don’t take photos too often. We’ve never taken professional photos before and are super awkward in front of the camera…will you help us?”
Confession: I hate being photographed and I know it feels weird. My work around is starting off our sessions with a lot of candids and slowly introducing poses with some help.. Fun Fact: 95% of the couples you see in my photos are in the same boat as you.
Can we check out a full gallery?
I’d be happy to send over some full galleries. Fill out my contact form and let me know!
How do we book you?
I try to make it as easy as possible. After you fill out my contact form, I’d like to set up a consultation either on the phone or in person if you’re local to NYC so I can get to know you and understand what you’re looking for. After that, I require a 50% deposit and a signed contract to hold your date. The remaining 50% is due any time up until the big day.
When will we receive our photos?
2 Part Answer: Next day I sent 20-25 Highlight photos. Then, 3-4 weeks after your wedding date I send all of the photos edited, full-resolution, and non-watermarked images. From there, we work together on retouching. I pride myself in a quick turnaround time. Nobody wants to wait 3-6 months to see their photos!
How many photos will we get?
Depends on how many hours you book, the size of your wedding, and more! However, every photo we take is a photo you will receive.
Battery Park Family Photo Session
Zack and Cathy love family photos. You see this the second you're welcomed in to their Lower Manhattan home. This year, we first photographed in their home and then in Battery Park's Rockefeller Park. Rockefeller Park is perfect with it's sweeping views up the Hudson River and down to the Statue of Liberty.
Richard and Nell Proposal at USTA
Congrats Richard and Nell! Both Richard and Nell are avid tennis fans and come September they always attend the US Open. Back in early August, Richard reached out with his plan to propose to Nell on center court of Arthur Ashe Stadium. As far as a date, it would have to be after the Open. Unfortunately, the US Open does not allow proposals on the court or any “pre-scheduled special events” outside of game play.
The story. Richard told Nell they were going on a private tour of the USTA grounds.
The surprise. At the end of the tour they were allowed to go on to the court of Arthur Ashe stadium. This is where Richard would propose.
I arrived early and was escorted to the stadium. I was told they’d enter from entrance “X” and I positioned myself accordingly. At 4pm, they entered the court and walked towards the net. Both Richard and Nell took it all in. (The facility really is amazing.)
Then, slowly Richard got down on one knee. Nell said “YES!”.
We then walked around the stadium and did a quick mini-shoot.
