Central Park Fall Family Session

Fall family sessions in the late afternoons are my favorite. When the warm afternoon light hits the foliage and you add a happy family to the mix you’re guaranteed A++ photos. I last photographed this family back in the fall of 2015, when their son Max was an only child. Fast forward to 2019, Max now has his little sister Sage.

We agreed to shoot a 30 minute family mini-session at the Central Park Model Boat Pond, right here in New York City, and it really worked out well. Although, the kids had a hard time sitting still with all of the dogs running around and things to play with, we really knocked it out of the park. When photographing little kids you have to play with them, make compromises, and be goofy.

Elyse's NYC Baptism | Upper East Side NY Baptism Photographer

As a baptism photographer, it is my job to photograph and document the day as it unfolds for a - the prep, the clothing, the traditions, and the various elements of the day. Whether on Long Island, NY or in NYC (Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens), every baptism is unique, just as every family is unique. Jonathan Heisler Photography, photographs the moments that make your family unique.

Baptism Photographers are skilled newborn and family photographers

Photographing Elyse’s baptism started with photographing her getting ready. Her dress, her shoes, and her new cross were all carefully laid out. I learned of the families traditions and made sure to capture them throughout the day. I took special note of the mother’s love and gentle touch.

When we arrived to the church I made sure to learn of the house rules:

  • Flash or no flash?

  • Can I walk around or do I need stay in one place?

  • Is the photographer and family allowed to stay after the ceremony for photos?

Katie's First Communion - Scarsdale Country Club

Capturing Katie’s First Communion was more of a family shoot with an event than our traditional full communion photo job, involving documenting a church and a post service brunch. I met the DiPalma family at their country club, The Scarsdale Country Club, post ceremony. Here I photographed family photos outside and then a very nice brunch inside the clubhouse.

The DiPalma family were super happy with these photos and so was I! This day really checked all of the boxes of great photo making; good people, no rain, and a beautiful location. Origionally, we were concerned with rain in the forecast, however, the weather turned out to be superb with sunny skies and a nice breeze. The “icing on the cake” was peak Spring Cherry Blossoms and budding trees.
